The Steinmark Construction Process

We have developed a solid process to onboard a new project. A renovation can be very tasking and often stressful. Following Our Process will ensure we don't miss any items prior to starting your project.

Step 1 - Initial Meeting (Phone call, Video chat, or On-site)

Our first step can be achieved over the phone, video call and in most cases a site visit. It is imperative we understand the client's vision, develop a working budget, and provide a cost range based off recent projects similar in scope.

Imagine walking onto a car lot and saying."I want a car" No budget. No Preferences. No Clarity.

Every car has four wheels, a steering wheel, doors, and an engine. But that doesn't mean they're the same. A basic sedan might cost $30,000. A fully loaded luxury SUV? Closer to $100,000+

Every renovation project has floors, walls, cabinets, and lighting. But like cars, the range in style, function, finishes, and performance is vast.

This may be your first renovation or you may have a few under your belt and just looking for a new contractor. We completely understand that you may have no idea what current costs are. See our "What's the Cost page". This allows you to get an idea of cost to perform a Partial, Full, or Complete renovation.

Step 2 - Pre-Construction Agreement

Next, we establish a Pre-Construction Agreement. This is where we handle all of the preliminary services required to develop your project, prior to the execution of a full Construction Agreement. Depending on the scope of work, pre-construction preparation can take anywhere from one day up to weeks or longer to accurately complete. When skipping this route homeowners are often reviewing a "free estimates" and often each quote they receive is not apples for apples. What is standard practice for one company is not the same for another. Our services include design development, preliminary budgeting, feasibility review, value engineering, and coordination with relevant consultants, engineers, or municipalities.

Step 3 - Pre-Construction Review

Once we have put together your project overview, we will schedule an in-person meeting to review the project. Prior to this meeting, we will have performed several walkthroughs with our team and developed a solid execution plan. This meeting is another opportunity to make additional adjustments. Upon completion we will collect final payment for our Pre-Construction services. If you decide to enter a full Construction Agreement, we will waive your Pre-Construction fees and sign contract.

Step 4 - Design and Selection process

During this process we will team you up with our Design and Selections Manager and provide you with a list of Owner items to be selected and/or purchased, as well as a list of Builder items to be selected and purchased. We will work closely with you during this phase.

Step 5 - Contract review and schedule

Once the selection process is complete, we finalize the construction schedule, update contract paperwork and add you to the official build calendar.

Step 6 - Team walkthrough & job start

About a week prior to demolition, our Field Manager will contact you to discuss how to you can best be prepared for the arrival of the team. We will identify all the emergency shut-offs, and discuss any safety concerns and define a workspace for the team.

Step 7 - Construction

Communication is key. We strive for daily communication with our clients. Our Field Manger will be one point of contact for the duration of the project. Lots of contractors can perform the work, but unfortunately few can finish. We hold ourselves and our team accountable to meet and exceed the industry standards.

Step 8 - Warranty period

Once the project is complete we will issue you a warranty date. Industry standards require a one year warranty. All manufactured products will be covered under the manufactures warranty. Your warranty will be selected at contract.
