The Steinmark Construction Process

A Proven Onboarding Process
Renovations can be stressful, but our streamlined onboarding ensures nothing is overlooked. Following our process keeps your project organized and sets the stage for a smooth start.

Step One - Clarify Vision & Budget

We’ll begin with a phone or video call, often a site visit to understand your vision, set a working budget, and provide a cost range based on similar projects.

Just like car shopping—where a basic sedan isn’t a luxury SUV—renovation and remodel costs can vary widely. For sample price ranges on Partial Renovations, Full, and Complete Remodels, check out our “What’s the Cost” page.

Step Two - Pre-Construction Agreement

In most cases we formalize a Pre-Construction Agreement to handle all preliminary services before the full Construction Agreement. Depending on the project’s scope, this preparation can take from a single day to several weeks to ensure accuracy.

Skipping this step often leaves homeowners comparing “free estimates” that aren’t truly comparable—each contractor’s standards differ. Our pre-construction services include design development, preliminary budgeting, feasibility review, value engineering, and coordination with consultants, engineers, or municipalities.

Step Three - Final Review & Transition

After completing your project overview, we’ll schedule an in-person meeting to review the plan. By this point, our team has done multiple walkthroughs and crafted a solid execution strategy.

This meeting allows for final adjustments before moving forward. Once complete, we’ll collect the Pre-Construction payment. If you choose to proceed with a full Construction Agreement, your Pre-Construction fees are waived, and we’ll sign the contract to begin work.

Step Four - Design & Selections Support

During this phase, you’ll work directly with our Design and Selections Manager. We’ll provide clear lists of Owner- and Builder-purchased items and guide you through every choice, ensuring your vision is fully realized.

Step Five - Finalize & Schedule

After selections are complete, we lock in the construction schedule, update the paperwork, and place your project on our official build calendar.

Step Six - Pre-Demolition Prep

Pre-Demolition Prep
About a week before demolition, our Field Manager will reach out to help you prepare. Together, we’ll review emergency shut-offs, address safety concerns, and define the team’s workspace.

Step Seven - Clear Communication & Accountability

We prioritize daily updates and assign a dedicated Field Manager as your single point of contact throughout the project. While many contractors can start a job, few see it through to the highest standard—we hold ourselves and our team accountable to exceed industry expectations.

Step Eight - Warranty & Peace of Mind

After project completion, we’ll issue your warranty date. Industry standards provide a one-year warranty, while all manufactured products remain covered under their own warranties.
